Neuro-HIFU: An Immediate Improvement in Quality of Life

HIFU treatment involves placing a helmet-like device on the patient’s head, which delivers High-Intensity Focused Ultrasound to the neuronal cells responsible for the symptoms of Parkinson’s Disease and other movement disorders.

The millimetric precision required for this treatment is achieved thanks to image guidance with a 3 Tesla MRI scanner. High-field MRI technology provides the highest image resolution currently available for visualising the human brain.

The patient remains awake throughout the entire procedure and can observe the results immediately. As this is an outpatient treatment, patients can return home approximately four hours after completing the procedure and follow-up assessment.
