Dr Carlos Morata Martínez is a consultant neurologist with a special interest in movement disorders. He currently practises within the Parkinson’s and Movement Disorders Unit at Ascires, where he focuses on the diagnosis and treatment of complex neurological conditions such as Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders.

Dr Carlos Morata Martínez graduated in Medicine from Miguel Hernández University and completed his specialist training in Neurology through the MIR residency programme. He later continued to expand his expertise with a Master’s Degree in Movement Disorders from the University of Murcia, strengthening his training in the clinical and therapeutic management of these conditions.

Throughout his career, he has maintained an active commitment to scientific development and continuing medical education, regularly attending national and international congresses and scientific meetings in neurology and movement disorders, as well as specialised courses in neuropharmacology, electromyography and neurological clinical practice.

In the field of research, he has participated in numerous multicentre clinical studies related to neurodegenerative diseases, particularly in Parkinson’s disease and other movement disorders, collaborating as a sub-investigator in several international clinical trials focused on the development of new therapies. He is also the author and co-author of scientific publications in specialised journals and has presented scientific communications at neurology congresses.

His work combines clinical care, research and medical education, with the aim of providing patients with highly specialised neurological care based on scientific evidence and the latest advances in the treatment of movement disorders.
