Javier Hernández Falcón

Dr. Javier Hernández Falcón is a specialist in Urology with more than 20 years of clinical and surgical experience in adult urology. His activity focuses on uro-oncology , female functional urology, male urological health and minimally invasive surgery, combining an approach based on scientific evidence with personalized and multidisciplinary care.

A graduate in Medicine and a specialist in Urology, he also completed training in General Surgery, as well as a Fellowship in Uro-oncology and Functional Urology. He then furthered his specialization with a Master in Uro-oncology and a Master in Functional Urology, and obtained certification in da Vinci Xi robotic surgery after his training at IRCAD Strasbourg.

Throughout his career he has developed his activity in high complexity centers in Spain and Venezuela, consolidating a wide experience in the integral management of the urological patient and in the coordination with multidisciplinary teams. His practice includes the diagnosis, treatment and follow-up of prostate, bladder and kidney cancer, as well as the approach to female functional pathology and male urological health.

He has experience in open surgery, laparoscopic, robotic and endoscopic techniques, applying minimally invasive procedures whenever the clinical indication allows it. It also performs advanced diagnostics through urological functional tests, urodynamic studies, prostate assessment and imaging techniques aimed at early diagnosis.

His areas of special interest include female functional urology, with treatment of urinary incontinence, overactive bladder, pelvic floor, recurrent cystitis and voiding dysfunction; male prostate and sexual health; and the development of strategies for the prevention and early diagnosis of urological cancer.

In the scientific field, he has participated in publications, congresses and training activities in urology, and has received awards for research work in minimally invasive urological surgery. In addition, he maintains an active participation in national and international scientific societies of urology and continence.

Its healthcare approach is oriented towards prevention, early diagnosis, shared decision making and improvement of the patient’s quality of life, integrating male and female urological health from a global perspective.
