Rodolfo Augusto Chicas Sett

Dr Rodolfo Augusto Chicas Sett is a consultant radiation oncologist with more than 10 years of experience in high-precision radiotherapy and advanced oncological treatment techniques.

His clinical activity focuses on:

• Stereotactic body radiotherapy (SBRT/SABR) for lung, liver and pancreatic tumours, among others
• Intracranial radiosurgery for brain metastases and primary tumours, as well as advanced Breath Hold techniques to improve treatment precision in thoracic and abdominal tumours
• Combined radiotherapy treatments with immunotherapy and targeted therapies

He holds a PhD in Health Sciences awarded “cum laude”, with a doctoral thesis entitled High-Dose-Rate Brachytherapy Boost in Prostate Cancer: Clinical Outcomes, Late Rectal Toxicity and Uncertainties in Organ At Risk Delineation.

He combines his clinical practice with teaching roles at Universidad Francisco de Vitoria – SEOR, CEU Cardenal Herrera University and the University of Valencia.

He is the author and co-author of more than 70 publications in international journals, as well as presentations at national and international conferences and training courses. In addition, he has supervised several doctoral theses, master’s dissertations and undergraduate final projects.

He also serves as consulting editor for Clinical and Translational Oncology and reviewing editor for Frontiers in Oncology.

He is currently Coordinator of the Translational Research Platform of the Spanish Society of Radiation Oncology (SEOR) and Board Member of GETICA (Spanish Group for Immunotherapy and Biological Therapies in Cancer).
