From its conception, Ascires Hospital has been designed as an energy-smart hospital. To achieve high energy efficiency, the BIM (Building Information Modelling) system has been implemented, enabling the simulation and control of the building’s energy consumption, as well as its thermal and acoustic conditions.
This system is connected to the hospital’s maintenance programme and is inspired by technologies originally developed for submarines, providing precise, sustainable and safe management of all the centre’s energy resources.

This hospital, designed in collaboration with Patient Associations and Ilunion, offers personalised care tailored to different conditions and sensory needs, with translation services, sign language support and fully accessible facilities.

The new Ascires Hospital features a therapeutic garden designed to enhance the health benefits of nature. Conceived with a biophilic approach, this green space includes rest areas, sensory gardens and an open-air rehabilitation zone.
The project, developed by GM Paisajistas, is based on proven evidence: humanising healthcare environments improves health outcomes. In this way, the hospital is committed not only to the most advanced technology, but also to spaces that foster the patient’s overall wellbeing.
